Year 6 Bikeability

Georgie and Emilia in Year 6 share their experience of Bikeability, a cycle course Year 6 took part in at the start of the month. One group were luckier than the other with the weather, but everyone gave 100% and came away with new skills.

'The course lasted two days in which we completed two levels of cycling. On the first day, we learnt how to check our bikes using the A, B, C check - air, breaks, and chain. After that, we were ready to start. The first set of challenges consisted of signalling, turns and mounting safely. Luckily, the weather held and we stayed dry.

Unfortunately, the following day the weather wasn't so good. We spent the next day on the roads learning about junctions and turning. We had fun cycling in partners along major and minor roads. After two busy days, we were exhausted and ready for some rest. We are really looking forward to putting our new skills into practice in the coming months. Fingers crossed for some sun!
