Visiting Artists Ignite Interests for our Prep Pupils
The Art Room has been busy lately, with two visiting artists running workshops for our pupils. Sarah Glazier-Hart ran a session for our Year 6 classes, while Stephen Ellis joined our Year 4- Yeat 6 Art Club last week!
We were pleased to welcome Sarah Glazier-Hart from Wilding Studio to St Margaret’s. She delivered an engaging ceramics workshop to our Year 6 pupils. A talented ceramicist, Sara’s Hand-built stoneware pieces are inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Our Year 6 pupils created some beautiful plant pots during the workshop with delicate natural imprints. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and asked Sarah thoughtful questions about her work and profession.
Just the following day, we then welcomed local artist Stephen Ellis. Stephen is a mixed-media painter and collage artist, a member of Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art, and associate artist at 44AD Bath. Stephen kindly delivered a captivating talk to our Year 4,5 & 6 lunchtime Art Club.
He brought examples of his work and demonstrated his collage techniques. Pupils had a chance to ask insightful questions and left the session full of new ideas for their future Art projects.
