Residential season is well and truly here, with Years 4, 5 and 6 all enjoying adventures this term! At St Margaret’s we talk a lot about our pillar ‘Fostering Exploration’. Mr Bromwich often refers to this as the pupils pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone to experience or learn something new.
The Summer Term at St Margaret’s lends itself perfectly to this pillar, with ample opportunities for the children to take their learning outside and to explore new places and have new experiences on the various residentials we run throughout the term.
Year 5 kicked off the term with a trip to The Ultimate Adventure in Bideford, Devon, where they enjoyed a whole host of adventure-themed activities including the high ropes, a ‘Total Wipeout’ themed obstacle course, kayaking and a visit to Westward Ho! beach. Meanwhile, Year 6 travelled to the Isle of Wight for a week of sailing and water sport fun at UKSA. From paddleboarding to windsurfing, crabbing, to raft building, there really was something for everyone.
This week, Year 4 have headed to Mill on the Brue for two nights, where they will be enjoying a range of activities on a residential with a sustainable twist – the children learn all about how the activity centre keeps its green credentials at the top of its priority list! We are excited to see the children back in school and to hear more about their adventures!
