On Friday 28th June, we celebrated the end of another wonderful year at St Margaret’s at our Annual Prizegiving and Open Day.
The day began with the school open for parents to come and look at all the fantastic work on display. As usual, school looked incredible, decked out with all the children’s work from across the year. Parents, grandparents and siblings were toured around the school by the children, who loved seeing everyone’s work on display.
At 11am, we filled the marquee and our Prize Giving event began. Mr Bromwich welcomed our Guest Speaker Natasha Devon MBE and Lady Lansdowne, Patron of the Calne Foundation Trust. Natasha Devon then spoke to our pupils about her own experience of perfectionism, how she has managed it, and how she has learnt to lean into things which feel uncomfortable or challenging. She inspired our pupils with her story of how she learnt to manage her anxiety and crafted a career she loves. She ended her speech by celebrating our pupils, telling them they should feel very proud of themselves, and that they were all unique and precious. Natasha then went on to present our prizes.

Mr Bromwich then took to the stage to say his final farewell to the school community. He thanked the parents, staff and pupils at the school for a fulfilling and happy five years as Headmaster at St Margaret’s Prep. Chair of our Parents' Association, Mrs Jo Latham came to the stage and presented Mr Bromwich with his own personalised St Margaret’s sausage dog, and a generous donation towards a watch, from the parent community. He said to the pupils: ‘It has been a privilege to be your Headmaster. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you grow into self-assured, capable individuals; you inspire me every day with your enthusiasm, your curiosity and kindness.’
Mr Bromwich, you will be very much missed! We wish you all the very best as you move to Abu Dhabi for a new, exciting chapter with your family.
