Eco Committee Lead Bag2School Initiative
On Friday 10
th
May, we were pleased to hand over the contributions donated by the St Margaret’s community to Bag2School. Bag2School is a free eco-friendly fundraising scheme that helps schools, businesses, community groups, local councils, and charities raise funds through textile recycling as well as spreading textile recycling awareness
.
Our Eco Committee launched the initiative at the start of the Summer Term. They encouraged us all to get Spring cleaning and to think about how to responsibly recycle our textiles. The result? An influx of donations from St Margaret’s families!
The bags were collected by a representative from Bag2School. Year 6 loaded up his van, before he weighed the collection and handed over a cheque for £157 for an impressive 392kg of fabric collected! The money will be used to support sustainable initiatives at St Margaret’s in the future.
A huge well done to our Eco Committee for leading this initiative!
