Opening Hours

The Kindergarten aims to be as flexible as possible to fit in with parents, family and work requirements.  It is open from 8.30am until 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, with a flexible early morning drop off from 8.15am.  Wrap around care is available until 6.00pm at an additional cost. 

In order to benefit from the activities organised in the Kindergarten and to assist with settling in and confidence building, we recommend five sessions per week. Sessions can be booked on a full day basis or half day basis in the morning.
For example, a child staying for 5 morning sessions would attend for 20 hours per week, a child staying for 2 and a half days would attend for 18 hours per week.

Full day and morning sessions include lunchtime.  All children benefit from a mid morning snack and a hot lunch in the Dining Hall.

Free Entitlement Funding:

Please note, the fees quoted above do not take the free nursery entitlement funding into account.

We are currently able to offer parents a maximum of 15 hours free entitlement per week for a maximum of 36 weeks per year.  The 15 hours must be taken over a minimum of 3 days and no more than 13 hours of the entitlement may be claimed over 2 days. Funding is allocated by the Council from the term following the child's third birthday.

Specialist Service Charge:

Children who attend St Margaret’s Kindergarten benefit from specialist tuition in Swimming, Music, French, PE and ICT lessons each week.  These lessons take place during the morning Kindergarten sessions and there is a ‘Specialist Service’ charge for these activities which is invoiced on a termly basis.   The specialist service charge applies to all children attending Kindergarten and is levied on a pro-rata basis according to the number of hours the child attends during both the morning and afternoon sessions.  As the length of terms vary, the charges will differ slightly each term, however, on average, for a child attending 15 hours per week, the charge is in the region of £580 per term.

Please note, there are NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES on top of the specialist service charge during the term for sporting activities, snacks and hot lunches.  School trips outside the school may incur a small charge.

Parents booking additional hours outside the 15 hours free entitlement will be charged at £6.49 per hour and wrap-around care will be charged as quoted above.  These charges will also be invoiced termly.
