In This Section

The children at St Margaret’s use the main school Dining Room situated at St Mary’s; this includes our youngest pupils in the Kindergarten. The menu is imaginatively varied and all food is freshly prepared and cooked by our own catering staff, led by an experienced Catering Manager.

In the Prep Department we operate a ‘cafeteria’ system, where children are offered at least three choices of hot meals, as well as an extremely well stocked salad bar. Fruit salad is available every day, plus an alternative dessert. Children in Years 1 and 2 are encouraged to make their own choices and in order to support this, a slightly reduced menu is offered to make decision-making a little easier! Children in Kindergarten and Reception enjoy ‘family dining’ and are served their meals at the table by Early Years catering staff.

There are both vegetarian and gluten-free options available every day and other special dietary requirements are well catered for. Parents have the opportunity to sample our fare and those who have joined us at lunchtime have been very complimentary about the quality and variety of food on offer!
